#216 Laudenbach Nativity Scene Mold – $48.25
This Nativity scene cookie mold measures about 4 1/4” in diameter and produces a cookie that measures about 4” in diameter depending on how you trim it. The depth and details of the images are great. The border looks to have a vine and leaves wrapped around it. The inner scene not only has the Nativity scene itself, but also a Shepherd looking over his flock. The 3 Magi are there. One is kneeling and his crown has already been placed at the Lord’s feet. The frankincense is being given to Mary and that Magi is removing his crown and holding Jesus’ hand at the same time. The 3rd. Magi is still wearing his crown and holding the Myrrh. Joseph appears to be looking through the box of gold. This is the first Nativity scene I have seen that has a braided rug. The facial features are all nicely detailed and so is the clothing that’s worn. Notice the folds of Mary’s robes. In the barn you can see a cow and donkey. #1644 TSB Nativity Mold – $45.75
This mold measures about 4 3/4” x 4” and depicts the Nativity scene. This Nativity scene is shown as if you’re in the stable, whereas most are shown looking into the stable. This mold is reminiscent of an old Christmas card. Nicely detailed and very dimensional. The carver gave the faces a “soft” prayerful look. Looking out the left archway you can see the Star of Bethlehem and the city. Out the right archway you can see the shepherds with their flock being spoken to by the angel of the Lord. Around the Nativity scene is written: “For unto you is born this day in the city of David, a savior, which is Christ the Lord”. This mold is #1644 and sells for $45.75. This mold is also available in a smaller size (#405).

#405 Small Stable Nativity Mold- $32.95.
This mold measures about 2 5/8” x 2 5/16” and depicts the Nativity scene. This Nativity scene is shown as if you are in the stable whereas most are shown looking into the stable. #206 Gotsch Nativity Scene Mold – $35.95
This mold measures about 4 7/8” x about 3 3/4” with the center Nativity scene measuring about 3 3/8” in diameter. This mold is not as “crisp” as the other Nativity scene molds we offer but the design is different and I like the size of the round cookie it can produce. This would be a very beautiful cookie, marzipan candy, or paper casting left plain or more so if embellished with edible colors and tinted with gold and silver. This mold is #206 and sells for $35.95
Here is some information I received about some of the symbols on this mold from Fr. Bruce: The letters in the lower left hand corner spell “Santus Lucas”. This is Latin for Saint Luke, and the symbol of St. Luke in the Catholic Church is a winged Ox or bull. The letters in the lower right hand corner spell “Santus Matheus”, which is Latin for St. Matthew. St. Matthew is represented as an angel or winged man. The winged lion represents St. Mark and the Eagle represents St. John. These four saints are the four first evangelists of the Catholic Church and they are an important part of the foundation of the early church, thus they are the cornerstones and positioned as such in this carving.

Petrus with the Wels Nativity Scene Heart Mold #1791. $188.23.
This beautifully carved heart shaped Shepherd’s Nativity scene mold measures about 12 1/8″ x 10 1/4″. The Nativity image alone measures about 9″ x 8″. This mold was masterfully carved and every inch of this scene is covered in rich detail. The mold carries the initials FE and AS and the scene is bordered by a very lovely design that includes flowers and berries. This mold is #1791 and sells for $188.23. Clear and tinted copies of this mold will cost an extra $23.54. Cookies and Marzipan confections made from molds this large may have been used as part of the Christmas celebration. It would have been broken or cut into pieces and shared among family and friends or in church with the congregation; a great tradition. The large cookies would also have been used as decoration during the holiday. Add a spice scent to it and it would be truly inviting. There is a smaller version of this mold available (#533).

This beautifully carved heart shaped Shepherd’s Nativity scene mold measures about 6 5/16″ x 5 7/16″ with the image area measuring about 4 1/2″ x 3 15/16″. The mold is covered with rich details and carries the initials FE and AS. The scene is bordered by a very lovely design that includes flowers and berries. The depth of the images as well as the border are very nice. The cookie or confection that this mold produces can be left with a wide border or trimmed close. There is no wrong way. This mold is #533 and sells for $64.78. Clear and tinted copies of this mold will cost an extra $8.10. This mold is the smallest version of #1791 Wels Nativity Heart mold that we offer. The original mold measures about 12 1/8″ x 10 1/4″. A mid-sized version will be offered in the coming weeks. The original antique wooden mold is from Wels Austria and had belonged to a very old family run bakery. It is estimated to have been carved between 1690 and 1750. but may have been from an earlier period.

In the background can be seen shepherds tending their flock. This mold is #1759 and sells for $122.76. This mold is available in clear or color tinted for an extra $15.35.
The original mold was carved between 1790 and 1820 and had been part of a family collection in Zurich Switzerland. It now resides in a private collection in the US. The original mold was damaged so we had our replica restored. It will now deliver the same image as the first user of the original wooden mold would have seen.
