#208 Good Morning Rooster Mold - $24.65

#208 Good Morning Rooster Mold – $24.65

This mold of a Rooster measures about 2 5/8” in diameter and produces a cookie that measures about 2” in diameter. The rooster stands on a grassy plain ready to crow to announce the days awakening as the sun’s rays begin to light the day. There is corn in the open husk at the side and a very beautiful nouveau style simple border. Painted this would make a very beautiful mid western picture cookie. The images are not real deep but the impression is quite striking. This mold is item #208 and sells for $24.65.

#1671 Samson and the Lion Mold – $33.45.

This mold of Samson fighting a Lion measures about 3 1/2″ in diameter and produces a very nice deep detailed image. The original wooden mold along with several very old Marzipan molds was sent to us from Champvert France. Because this image does not have very fine details I would not only use it for Springerle, but for Gingerbread and Spekulatius cookies as well. This cookie would go over great in your Sunday school class. This mold is #1671 and sells for $33.45.

#1721 Run the World Mold – $44.65.

This mold measures about 5″ x 3 7/8″ and depicts a gathering of the “Rulers of the World” (Lauf Der Welt – Run the World). In the foreground a human figure wearing a typical wig from the 18th century, in the background various anthropomorphized animal figures such as donkeys, fox, rabbit, dog, bull, deer and etc. All seem to be dressed in doublet and partly armed. This is an extremely rare subject and the first political one like it I have seen. Not sure of the whole meaning yet. Tho my first thought was that it applied to today’s environment. And of course, the carver thought it also applied in his time. Government gone awry. The original mold was carved in the 18th Century and I’m told it was in a collection in Switzerland. It is now in a collection here in the U.S. This mold is #1721 and sells for $44.65.

This mold is from the Conditorei-Cafe Bakery in Biberach an der Riss in Germany. The last owner of the bakery, Adolf Lieb, died in 2001. The molds had been in the Lieb families since 1803. Hairs, wings, feathers, flowers, fruits, leaves, and expressions come to life in all their detail. The mold measures about 7 1/2″ x 4 7/8″ and produces 10 individual cookies that measure about 2 1/8″ x 1 1/4″ each.
