#456 Junior Lady Edith Mold – $70.16.

This mold of a very beautiful and expertly carved fine lady measures about 7 9/16″ x 2 13/16″. I can’t say enough about the carved fine details and symmetry that the carver imparted to this Lady. All of the details have very good depth and dimension. The lady looks to be dressed for the time period between 1820 to about 1848. This mold has grooves along its long sides to assist in lifting after pressing.

This mold can be used with a Springerle, Gingerbread, Spekulatius or Marzipan dough. A work of edible art as is but painted with edible colors, she’d be a hit during your luncheon, tea party or shower. Paper casting with this mold should also work well. The Junior Lady Edith mold is #456 and sells for $70.16. A clear or color tinted copy of this mold will cost an extra $8.77.

This mold is a smaller more single serve and cookie tray friendly version of the original size. The original size (about 13 3/4″ x 5 1/2″) and an even smaller size version will be introduced in a couple weeks or so. From what I can gather, the original mold came from an old familie collection in Nürnberg Germany. The familie name was Rackl. The mold had been used at an old bakery in the center of town for many years. The bakery, which was in a centuries old house, was destroyed during the war.

#1775 Bartsch 12 Image Mold. -$72.85

This mold measures about 7 1/4″ x 5 3/8 ” and will produce twelve individual images that measure about 2 1/8″ x 1 3/16″ each. The images represent professions in daily life. Each image is framed by a herringbone hatch design. These are a great rectangular shape of a two to three bite size. One of the images is of a man with shears riding on a goat. I imagine it is something to do with his profession. The designs are of good depth and detail with the faces not as well executed as others I’ve seen. The original mold I’m told was carved around 1810 and was in the possession of a family in Munich Germany. This mold is #1775 and sells for $72.85.
